Auditors report no misappropriation but flag antiquated book keeping for the Prison Commission covering 1897 to 1900. They found missing records, a $180 error later corrected, a $2134 discrepancy, and that the farm ran like a private venture with no vouchers. They note suspect signatures on pay rolls and overpayments to guards. The state records were kept poorly and a key book was compiled after investigations began.
