A bold gunman who robbed the Denver Express mail car on Union Pacific No 101 was shot in the chest and survived to reach a Topeka hospital. Police had not yet identified him as officers pursued the case.

Atlanta owners dominated the Hendersonville horse show with ribbons. Frank Inman’s pony Shorty took second in the saddle pony class and won in the harness pony class. Miss Mary Algood Jones’ Hazel Queen secured first in saddle horse open and second in ladies side saddle, also third in the three gaited saddle class.
