Engineer George Thompson was injured, baggage master Moreland of Columbus suffered head cuts, and Werman James McCullough of urivhsville was badly biased. Express messenger George Morvin was slightly hurt. Cause unknown. Trains were delayed several hours while tracks were cleared.
Civermarr August 23 report that immigrants at Castle Garden were swindled by paper resembling United States money. Investigators found plates at Jacob H. Long's Harmurton Ohio printing office and warned him against printing notes. The imitation closely mimicked the back of the US note. The family still has the pen used to sign the withdrawal ordinance.
