Georgia reports a vast rise in total tax returns from 146 counties and corporations. The year 1910 totals reach about 765,624,000 with county gains near 40,947,437 and corporate increases around 2,000,000 estimated. Figures note continued detail on page eight.
Ruth Adamson, two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs W P Adamson of 43 Ridge avenue, is killed when her body is run over by trolley car No 40 near 603 o'clock. The wheel passes over and severs her, the body hidden beneath the car for minutes before recovery. Father collapses on the scene as bystanders and workers assist. The incident prompts a broader note on a second accident as a work car hits a wagon and injures a boy while scene responders work.
Ex Gov Terrell and others assert Brown will sweep the state. A careful canvass shows prominent Georgians on stage and as speakers. At the Grand Opera last night a pool bet of 32,000 was offered by a Hoke Smith man and covered by a Brown supporter. Brown's backers crowded the house and streets. hundreds were turned away as seating filled. The Grand arcade and nearby streets were packed for three hours with attendees, including many Hoke Smith supporters interrupting speakers. Cedartown Ga August 20 the Jos Brown Club met at the courthouse with about 200 attendees. J T Ferkina chaired as district reports were heard and several talks urged Browns election by a large majority.
Hon William Schley Howard, candidate for Congress, spoke to about 900 voters in Covington. It was his 109th speech as crowds cheered. He had spoken in Mansfeld last night to 356 voters and in the afternoon at 620 at an earlier date.
The census report shows Atlanta surpassing the 160000 mark with a population estimate near 184 839. Reporters note the city has long claimed first magnitude status and the data confirms substantial growth since 1900, with reactions reflecting surprise and pride as the full tabulation continues on page eight.

A Lawrenceville rally in Gwinnett County closes his gubernatorial bid with a Monday night speech and a homecoming demonstration at 7:45. Atlanta and Savannah reports describe Brown supporters staging a torchlight parade through downtown Atlanta with around 12 000 marchers, bands, and mounted riders, plus a rival Hoke Smith demonstration planned after Governor Smith's return from Lawrenceville.
