Augusta August 17 Frank T Stewart a negro railway mail clerk between Augusta and Atlanta was arrested this afternoon by Deputy United States Marshal J P Murry charged with embezzling a decoy letter He is sent to the county jail for a preliminary hearing before Commissioner Erwin tomorrow Registrations inspectors have worked on the case for six months and will testify at the hearing The officers claim they will trace much of the stolen goods to Stewart

Dawson Man Cut In Neck Near Williams Furniture
Dawson Georgia August 17 Special Last evening James T Williams proprietor of Williams Furniture Company was seriously cut in the neck with a pocket knife by Greenwood Kedy local Standard Oil representative. Kennedy was angered by Williams placing his account with a collection agency and the dispute followed. The physician reports Williams resting quietly but critical. A warrant charging assault with intent to murder was sworn out and Kennedy is jailed awaiting commitment trial.
Little Girls Swim Like Swans on East Lake
Alexa Sterling age 1 and Ora Sterling age 9, daughters of Dr and Mrs Alexa Sterling, won a local title as premier child swimmers near Atlanta. Accompanied by their father and followed by Mrs Stenning, they swam half a mile from the boathouse to the dam and back, using alternating strokes to conserve strength. Continued on Page Five.
