Hotel Guest Shot Over a Dice Game
Downtown hotel guests were jolted from Sunday naps when three shots rang from the Ansley Hotel top floor. Henry T Rutland of Fort McPherson was wounded in the leg and hand in room 1,227 where he was found by guest H A Beardsley after a quarrel over a dice game. Anderson of Gainesville, Fla., fled and was not seen again. Rutland was taken to Grady hospital with non life threatening injuries. A telegram blank with added gambling scores and sums of 651 and 85 was found on the dresser. Continued on Page Five.
