Two Men Killed By Rail Near City Yard and Dayton
A Georgia Pacific yard accident killed Jem Garrison a 17 year old car coupler and Thomas L. Garnemson a telegraph worker near Dayton station. Garrison, sole support of a widowed mother and sisters, died after a failed coupling between mismatched bumpers. Mason, 25, from Columbus, walked onto Georgia Pacific tracks and was struck by a Georgia Pacific engine. his skull was crushed and his leg broken. An inquest will be held. both men were young and the city mourns their loss.

Performances included male quartet, cornet solos, vocal pieces, and xylophone selections. The event featured Little Sadie Lycett reciting and singing, with several guests and thanks extended to Mr Payne for an instructive and pleasant evening.

Woman shoots herself in Forsyth street home
A white woman, Mrs Joyce, living at 45 South Forsyth street, attempted suicide last night firing a pistol into her heart. The shot passed through and she dropped to a bed as a crowd gathered. Dr Johnson treated the wound and said she was not fatally injured. She had been drinking and claimed distress over tenant troubles and a failed drink request. Early morning condition was stable. Another note reports a political victory for Major Graham in the eighth district alliance nomination.
