Judge William Price Dies At Age 86 In Chicago
U S treasurer under Buchanan Judge William Price died at his son in law William Newberrys home in Chicago aged 86. He settled in Springfield Missouri in the 1830s and rose in the democratic party. Price resigned as treasurer after Buchanan ordered fort Sumter reinforcement. He served with General Price at Pea Ridge, was captured and imprisoned at Alton Illinois until 1862 exchange. He had been in ill health recently.
