Pathfinders Ward Club Holds Rousing Meeting At Courthouse
The Second and Third Ward Club met last night to review committee reports on south side public improvements, with praise for progress yet notes that Washington street work lags. A committee was formed to urge the streetcar company to accelerate work, and a plan emerged to relocate governor’s mansion near the capitol with a state museum. Members pressed for park-like Capitol grounds and discussed selling stockade property, while protest over Garden Street attendance at Fraser Street School was endorsed. Jury representation concerns prompted formation of a three member committee headed by George Walker to study grand juries.
