Points of Law Decided in Georgia Bankruptcy Case
Judge William T. Newman rules two key law points in the Haslett bankruptcy in Atlanta. A vested remainder in land must be scheduled as an asset and sold to pay creditors, and a contingent remainder if the event governs is also an asset to be scheduled, sold, and distributed. The decision affects Haslett and other creditors and includes representation by Bales, Langley, and McGill. Also notes Southern classification committee’s three day session in Chattanooga to classify about 190 commodities.
