Bondholders Given Answer Bondholders Given Answer

Savannah Ga April 20 Special Answers to the Central of Georgia Railway and the Ocean Steamship Company to suits filed against them by holders of second and third income bonds to collect 128000 unpaid interest were filed in Chatham superior court today. Trustees for the bondholders are the Manhattan Trust Company and the Central Trust Company of New York. The Steamship Company, defendant with the railroad, owns both companies and says it intends to further increase its fleet. It claims it would be unfair to use funds for interest payment on railroad bonds. Plaintiffs say the Steamship resources support both companies and that restoring 180000 to a reserve fund is just. The railroad says its net income for the year ending June 1907 was about 407000, while plaintiffs claim over 1300000.
