Dr George Frederick Payne founder of the Atlanta College of Pharmacy and noted scientist died Wednesday afternoon at his home in Macon. Born in 1853 he studied at Columbia College of Pharmacy New York and chose to serve his people in Macon. He led Georgia as state chemist and held numerous national posts including president of the National Pharmaceutical Association and editor of Payne's dictionary of pharmacy.
