Some $000,000 of unrefined silver not at the Carson City mint will be removed to San Francisco. This removal effectively dismantles the Carson City mint which has been used for assay purposes. Mr. Mason, the government inspector who found the shortage, will stay in Carson City for several weeks and then report to the San Francisco mint.
