In Agua Prieta Sonora rebels seize the town and arm for a push toward a provisional government. Belasaria Garcia leads 100 mounted reinforcements from the Sierra Madre to aid the insurrection, while federal forces brace for a hard clash as the conflict intensifies along the border.

Henry Denman Thompson aged actor dies at home after prolonged illness. Born October 15 1833 in Beechwood near Girard Pa he created The Old Homestead from Joshua Whitcomb sketches and built a long stage career spanning Boston Lowell and vaudeville before illness ended his work.
John Corrigan Jr reports Washington April 1 that the house approved a popular election resolution for senators. It moves to the senate judiciary committee for consideration with expectations of a two thirds vote. Southern Democrats support its form based on the Borah resolution.
Asheville report asserts Lillian Huntington of Elmira Ohio and Noysrand Dawley of Charleston West Virginia secretly wed. The Rev L T Hipp says he performed the ceremony yesterday evening for three witnesses and kept the license, despite denials of marriage. The families are described as socially prominent in their communities.
Pittsburg April 14 federal authorities tighten the case as Gilbert Perkins and his son Walter face mail fraud charges tied to the wealth of Erie financier Charles H Strong. The Parker era investigation involves post office inspectors and the U S secret service with ongoing talks at the district attorney’s office amid possible further arrests after connections to Black Hand letters and a mausoleum desecration in Erie.
An invalid carpenter, A B Daniels of 20 Connecticut Street, awoke to burglars striking the house late at night. He hoisted a ladder, saved his wife and two children and aided Robert B Calhoun and wife in escaping through smoke filled stairs before they and Calhoun put out the flames. The burglars fled with a small safe containing about 200 dollars saved over years, aided by two men seen nearby. Police later traced the attempt to burn the house to cover the theft.

George Terry, assistant United States treasurer at New York, died in York Cottage at 6 40 this morning after a week long illness from diabetes. A son was the only family member present at death. The body will be sent to New York at 3 30 this afternoon.
President Taft accepts the resignation of Dr David Jayne Hill ambassador to Germany. Hill says he resigns effective July 1 to pursue other interests possibly in public life or academia. He plans to return to Berlin briefly in May to arrange household matters before departure.
Z A Brooks sues in Goldfield district court for divorce from Eda J Brooks claiming eighteen years of cruelty and threats, including a revolver incident in Columbus Ga. He says he has turned over $23,000 in settlement for wife and daughter, with property interests in Goldfield. The decree grants the divorce and settlement.
