Irish Press Comments on the Home Rule Bill April 12 Dublin
Irish nationalist papers largely find the government home rule bill satisfactory though some doubt its finality. The Freeman's Journal calls it the greatest boldest and most generous of the three home rule bills and expects hearty welcome from the Irish party. The Irish Times warns unity will be tested and that the measure may not prove final. The Irish Independent says it gives about three quarters of expectations and not all demands. The Cork Free Press contends the government plan is not a solution to the Irish problem.
