Washington April 5 Navy enforces total prohibition of alcoholic liquors aboard ships and at navy yards effective after July 1. Secretary Daniels cites Surgeon General Braisted and urges uniform rule for all ranks, abolishing the wine mess and ending officer and enlisted drinking disparity.
Reverend Julien S. Rodgers decries prize fighting after boxer Jimmy Grant dies in East Atlanta church service. He argues boxing should be banned or redefined as homicide, warning the public to demand lawful limits on the sport.
Theodore Ford aged four, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ford, died after a mule kicked him near their Plat Shoals road farm. He was taken to Grady hospital but died at 5 o clock. Funeral arrangements were pending at Bloomfield's chapel. The Fords lived near Clifton church.
Mrs Susan Memminger, long ill at St Josephs Infirmary, showed signs of improvement last night, renewing hope for recovery. She is the mother of Rev Willis W Memminger, pastor of All Saints Episcopal, and widow of the late Rev R W Memminger of Charleston. She came from Charleston to Atlanta last October and has many local friends rooting for her recovery.
Mrs Ts M Stevens national president of the Women s Christian Temperance Union is ill at her home in Portland Maine and police report her condition considerably worse tonight her condition is critical

Savannah Ga April Phinin Kear permanent secretary of the National Drainage Congress will arrive in Savannah tomorrow morning to begin preparing for the meeting. April 22 23 Mr Kellar has been at war Chicago His headquarters and she is coming to Savannah where he will be closer in touch with the situation. He will give the publicity committee assistance in advertising the congress and will also look after the issuance of invitations etc. President Edmund T Perkins is expected to reach Savannah at least a week before the sessions of the congress begin.
Detective Burns signals plan to confer with Solicitor Hugh Dorsey and meet with Chief Newport Sanford, John Black, and other headquarters detectives. He aims to interview Jim Conley and seeks access to Copley’s cell through attorney William Smith, with Smith’s conditions. Burns spent Sunday coordinating with aides Dan Lehon and Guy Biddinger.

Mexico City April 5 reports describe General Villa ordering the deportation of six hundred Spaniards from Torreon to El Paso with immediate trains and temporary confiscation of property. Dr. B Fraser of St Pauls Methodist reports Atlanta will host a large revival from April 17 to 26 featuring Dr. Charles I Goodman of New York and Bishop John C Kilgo of Durbar. Goodman, noted pastor, led Calvary New York to admit 64 new members in one service and built up several churches in Boston, Brooklyn and New York. Kilgo’s public oratory is familiar to locals.
The Atlanta socialists held their semi monthly meeting at Laer Temple on Trinity Avenue. They discussed a May festival to raise funds for a campaign to establish free speech on Atlanta streets. The state party offered support to help the Atlanta local in the current effort and preparations to stand by the flag this time.
Frank McGuire a longtime hotel steward from Palm Beach and Mount Vernon fell from a taxi in Jacksonville early this morning and suffered a fractured skull. He died about half an hour later at a hospital.
