The Borough Treasurer by J S Fletcher

Mallalien escapes from the superintendent with help from Miss Pett and Christopher Pett. They hide him in a cottage on the moor, mint a plan, and plot to extract money from his pockets and papers. Miss Pett, aunt to Christopher, guards the prisoner while Christopher negotiates a sale of the stolen wealth to property owners and plans future gains.

The Gumts Still 100 Percent For The People

The Gumps still 100 percent for the people as Mise Pett and her nephew press Mallalien to aid his escape via a moving van to Norcaster Docks and on to London while Miss Pett’s furniture moves. Christopher Pert pushes the plan as Cotherstone’s role fades amid inquests and judicial shifts with a Norcaster solicitor and barrister weighing in and Mallalien’s terms rise to fifty pounds apiece for the theft.
