Long watch ends in Harrison train robbery case in Alabama city
Federal agents and City Detectives Cochran and Dusal moved Friday to close the Harrison gang case begun a decade ago. One man, Charlie Harrison, was held in Birmingham as the net widened across Alabama and Georgia with arrests in Atlanta. The Harrisons, led by Charles Jefferson and Richard Harrison, are linked to multiple railroad robberies in 1914 to 1917, including the Central Station and Alabama Great Southern heists, with proceeds scattered and blamed on the gang’s operatives.
