Report confirms William J. Bryan will appear on a lecture platform, starting in December in Atlanta. The deal, arranged by Alexander Comstock for W. E. McBee, offers Bryan 1000 dollars per night for 50 lectures totaling fifty thousand dollars. Lectures will cover economic topics, with bi metalism touched on nonpartisan.
The Charleston Importing and Exporting Company formed in Charleston with 100000 capital. Directors include F S Rodgers W B Huger R G Rhett A O Tobias and E J Bremer with H F Bremer elected president. Salane previously appointed but not confirmed. A Large Order For Wheels. CRTEAND, Ind, Nov. 19.-Studebaker Wheel Co. receives a large order for 2,000 sets of wheels from the company’s South Bend plant.
The Luther League met at the M O A Auditorium in Chicago on November 18 with President E F Elliott presiding. Delegates from sixteen states, about 800 total, discussed a league badge and proposed observance for the 400th anniversary of Philip Melanchthon in 1897. Over 54,000 members are listed on the federation rolls.
Tacoma reports from the steamer Olympia despatch that Bombay travelers to Europe face quarantine upon arrival due to plague. News notes 17 new cases and eight deaths in northern Calcutta area, with hospitals being built and precautions rising. Ahmedabad reports grave fears as depopulation and water shortages worsen. about 60 people have left Bombay since the outbreak began.
