The Georgia Senate action wipes out the Bush Bill and substitutes a measure to abolish liquor houses and prohibit manufacture, sale, and keeping for sale intoxicating liquors with limited wine production allowed for domestic use. The bill declares premises manufacturing or selling liquor a nuisance and imposes misdemeanor penalties.
Judge Robert Van Wyck speaks in The New York Journal with Alfred Henry Lewis about filling 36 000 offices. He demands honesty efficiency and worth for appointees and declares the appointees must be Democrats with pure and straight democracy.
J C Livingston, described as a blind man with a penchant for pistols, caused trouble on the Northentos recently and detained at the calaboose after Captain Cox restrained him. On Wednesday he was seen at Caroline restaurant flourishing pistols again and was arrested. Mayor Kime fined him ten dollars.
Atlanta nov. 4 Hon Bewdre Phinizy of Richmond County disputes a newspaper report. He says education is the key and rejects other claims as false while addressing his associates about the matter.

Fannie Johnson a colored woman was arraigned for cursing and abusing people and officers. The mayor found her guilty and sentenced her to sixty days of street labor. She vowed to resist but the superintendent was authorized to enforce the punishment.
Obama reports that Alabama Governor Johnston has raised the state quarantine allowing free movement of people and freight. Montgomery followed suit lifting most quarantines except in a few surrounding towns and county shotgun restrictions, with full removal expected in a day or two.
In Atlanta on November 4, Decatur defeats Stone Mountain for the De Kalb county court house. A subsequent finding shows the election notice was published only forty two days instead of the required fifty.
Bibb county grand jury returns an indictment against J. F. Rogers a prominent Macon man for allegedly setting fire to a Turpin Rogers store under Volunteers' Harmony. The case marks one of the first indictments in the current session.
The yellow fever situation in New Orleans remains unchanged with no worsening or improvement from yesterday. Experts expect frost to take two to three days to affect the disease, delaying any clear impact.
Atlanta November 4 The football team of the Technological school has played its last game and was disbanded yesterday. The team’s cancellation ends the season with no further contests at Tech. An advertisement from American Business College Omaha Nebraska promotes a thorough home study course in bookkeeping and commercial arithmetic claiming free tuition.
