Supreme Court Reaffirms State Power in Rail Rate Disputes
The Supreme Court today ruled in two railroad rate cases that state authorities may set transportation rates and that federal courts must not undermine state rate laws. Justices Peckham authored the opinions with a dissent by Justice Harlan in the Young case.
