Rural Carriers of Eighth District Hold Athens Convention
The annual convention of the Rural Free Delivery carriers of the Eighth Congressional District met in Athens Georgia with about fifty members. Hon M G Michael spoke for the Chamber of Commerce praising rural mail carriers as vital to distributing knowledge from farms to cities. Officers were elected: President S G Cartledge vice president J L Dorough secretary treasurer W E Merck. A large barbecue followed and resolutions thanked Athens officials, Klein Martin Wagons, and staff, and endorsed good roads advocacy.
