In San Juan de Puerto Rico on January 18 General Guy Wy Henry reports that former Spanish authorities diverted 400000 pesos from foreign insurance companies contractors and judicial trustees stored in island institutions. The insurance firms demand restitution from the United States government. Pratt tablets and DeWitt's Little Early Risers are advertised within the piece.
Raleigh January 19 a council of North Carolina negroes convened at the call of Congressman George H White and other leaders.
