Knoxville Jan 90 8 Elliott general manager of the Great Northern Express company arrived with Express Messenger Smith who was robbed at Water Mont July 3. Smith positively identified Harvey Logan as one of the robbers. Pinkerton detective Spence heads the case while Elliott travels to Chattanooga Nashville St Louis and St Paul to pursue further leads.
After a 20 year pursuit Anderson Shackelford, a black man, is captured in Montgomery Alabama and placed in the county jail. He is accused of killing another black man near the scene of the crime.
