The wedding of Miss Marion Schley Nicholson to Lieutenant Barrington Flanigen of the United States Army was held Tuesday at Emmanuel Church in Athens. The ceremony featured a large assembly of relatives and out of town guests, with Rev Troy Beatty officiating. Following the ceremony, a reception at the Nicholson home on Henderson Avenue showcased elaborate decor, family prominence, and a lavish dessert. The couple, who will reside in Portland Maine, were celebrated by a wide circle of friends and received numerous expensive gifts.
The general staff presented Secretary Baker with a detailed plan for a national policy of universal military training. It contrasts with the Chamberlain bill which calls for a full year of training as the minimum, while the Senate bill proposes training over all months. Mr. R. M. Guess secretary of the student Y M C A at the University will attend a Chicago committee meeting to plan the student department for the next international convention. He was elected at the Blue Ridge conference last summer to represent Southern student secretaries. There is talk of a special train from Athens to Atlanta to view the A C C basketball game that could decide the southern championship.

Mrs Amanda Andrews died yesterday morning at five o'clock at 424 Broad Street. Services are set for this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence of her sister Mrs J W Watching, 1424 Broad Street, with pallbearers named J W Eberhart O P Eberhart W P Eberhart J G Eberhart W L Watkin and B L Eberhart meeting at 2 pm at Bernstein Brothers chapel. She leaves two children and one sister Mrs Watkins.
The Agricultural Engineering Club met at the engineering building with a strong program. Prof E G Welch spoke on farm machinery, crop production, and labor costs while J B Everett traced early gas engines and inventors. R D Bedinger led a discussion on farm concrete constructions. After adjournment lunch was served.
In Rome Georgia at 1006 Walnut Street O R McGill and his wife facing a medical crisis, a wreath of funeral flowers appeared in the mirror as Mrs McGill nears childbirth. The wreath remains visible and doctors offer no clear explanation beyond recent cold damp weather. Neighbors report multiple visitors have seen the apparition.
