Mayor Court Fines Total Near Eight Hundred Dollars
The Monday morning police court session saw numerous offenses, with fines totaling about $800. Will Anderson, colored, paid $10 for disorderly conduct after cursing at a depot, while six white gamblers were fined $16 each for gambling. Albert Mobley, white, faced $100 or six months for drunken violence and stabbing at S. H. Parker. Charlie Heath, colored, convicted on two counts for selling whiskey with four quarts found, fined $200 per count. Hal Matthews, charged with drunkenness, forbidden pistol, and gambling, paid $100 and was sent to higher courts.
