Mortgage for Fifty Million Recorded in Clarke County

Clarke County records a historic mortgage indenture of 50 million dollars. Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company funds the issue with Bankers Trust Company and John H. Parsons as trustees. Judge Preached at Revival and Lawyer Ordained a Preacher

In Statham a fortnight long revival drew vast crowds at the warehouse meeting place. Judge J A Erwin of Savannah preached as Col James F Holmes, a seven year Georgia bar member and respected lawyer, was ordained into the Christian ministry. Holmes will evangelize initially, with future assignments undecided, and remains active in Odd Fellowship and local councils.
