B F West an elderly city employee was severely cut by Sherman Hawks in a dive on Woodblock. The 7 pm attack left wounds on the head neck arm and chest. Hawks denies guilt while witnesses recall the assault. West sought medical aid an hour later and Dr Conway treated the injuries. Hawks was jailed.
