Body found on mountain near Oxanna hotel
Two months after Robert Edwards disappeared, a young man’s body was found atop the mountain west of the Oxanna hotel. A lost dog, a breech-loading pistol, and a rope twist were found near the scene along with a three-page letter dated June 10 1890 signed by Mary J. E. The coat pocket contained the note and the body lay 75 to 160 feet away. The case aroused extensive inquiry with no definitive light shed on the disappearance. Mrs Mary L. A.
