Ambassador Dwight W. Morrow returned to Washington from Mexico to submit his resignation and confer with President Hoover and Secretary Stimson on the United States relations with Mexico.

Cleveland reports Patrolman Edward Wisnieski and Ladi slav Turek wounded after a farmer opened fire while mistaking them for chicken thieves. Ralph S. Kelley resigned as chief of the Field Division of the U S General Land Office in Denver charging that large oil interests profit at the public expense through unjust concessions in Western Colorado oil shale fields. In St. Joseph Michigan Sept 29 hope for the rescue of six aboard the fruit packet North Shore was announced as wreckage was found along the shore between South Haven and St. Joseph. Coast Guard Captain W J Preston said the vessel went down about 30 miles off Racine Wisconsin with skipper Hr win Anderson his bride and four crew members presumed lost.

Akron officials announced murder charges against Lula Esther Barnes and Marshall W. Corniel in a bomb plot that killed Barnes's husband Clarence. Investigators say dynamite linked to the couple caused the auto blast on Mogadore Road as Barnes turned on lights.

Crates wash ashore near South Haven suggesting gales sank the vessel, joining the Salvor and the schooner Our Son. Coast Guardsmen and aviators searched the lake with little hope remaining.

Mrs Jones and Dr O M Pittinger were injured along with Mrs Pittinger. The party sought Colorado Springs.
The Sunshine School at East Side is now the official name for the crippled children's school after a vote by the superintendent, teachers, and students. Four hospital cots and bedding arrived, with desks ordered from the American Seating Company in Indianapolis. Miss Mable Starrett heads the Round Robin Club affiliated with the school.
Miss Gladys Straight, 24, a music instructor at Pease Township School, was killed when struck by an automobile as she attempted to enter another car in front of her home. Her mother was seated in the other vehicle.
