New Highway Opening Delayed for Routes 50 and 7
Ora Ashcraft, project engineer, said the seven mile Routes 50 and 7 relocation from Coolville to Little Hocking will not open until Monday. A partial opening will occur with traffic limited to the Little Hocking to Torch Hill section while routes via Coolville and Route 144 are avoided due to a sharp 90 degree curve and uphill turn. Rainy weather slowed seeding along the right of way, and officials target mid October for possible full use of the Coolville interchange depending on paying work completion. Monday safety barriers and signs will be installed for motorists on the new road.
