Death by self harm at the State Hospital
Mrs Mary E Bradford a patient from Meigs county at the Athens State Hospital cut her throat with an old razor last Thursday at 9 30 pm. Attendants and a ward physician treated her, but bleeding resumed early Friday and she died. The inquest ruled death by her own hand and cleared physicians and attendants of blame. The article notes the facility houses many patients with limited staff.
