Milford Del. to reopen Lakeview High amid integration clash

The Delaware State Board of Education ordered Lakeview High School reopened to both white and Negro students in Milford after a week of closure amid threats. Evelyn Ay who retired as Miss America will marry Ensign Cary Sempier Jr in Lancaster on November 13. Ay, crowned in Atlantic City last year, met Sempier at the University of Pennsylvania. Woman Rescued After Eight-Hour Entrapment in Coal Bin

In Cranston Rhode Island Mrs. Annie M. Regius 75 suffered no external injuries after spending eight hours wedged in her coal bin. Police say she became trapped while fetching firewood from the cellar and was found by a neighbor who heard her cries.

Two-Deaths Probe Stated In Columbus

In Columbus a 26 year old Army sergeant Set Clifton Dunaway and a 43 year old woman companion Betty M Batchelor were found shot to death in an apartment. Coroner Dr Robert A Evans ruled murder and death by own action with Dunaway firing five shots into Batchelor then a sixth into himself. Army authorities said they will conduct their own routine investigation. Police said the pair had lived together in the untidy apartment. their bodies were found by a Fort Hayes corporal summoned to duty.

Elyria Receives $135000 From Turnpike Board

Columbus Ohio A check for 135000 was sent to the city of Elyria by the Ohio Turnpike Commission. 18 Year Old Indicted for Slaying Sylvania Teen

A special grand jury indicted Bernard Schreiber, 18, on first degree murder in the August 12 death of Mary Jolene Friess, 17, of Sylvania. The stabbed and beaten body was found in a wooded area about 15 miles west of Toledo. He likely will be arraigned Monday.

Dope ring arrests were made in Indianapolis as the biggest Midwest narcotics raid in years netted Herbert Miles from Phoenix Walter Johnson Paul Lasley and Elestine Johnson.
