Funds Cut For School Lunches
McARTHUR The Vinton County Board of Education faces a tough year running lunchrooms on a paying basis after a 50 percent cut in Federal Reimbursement for Lunches. The cut follows the USDA's refusal to release $100 million for the program. Lunch prices will rise after the price freeze. The board approved new hires for guidance counseling substitutes cooks and athletic staff at Allensville and a new reading series for grades K to six. The next meeting is set for Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.
