The Athens Dance Club kicks off its fourth year with a Saturday dance at the American Legion home from 9 p.m. to midnight. Membership costs $5 per couple for three dances or $2.30 per dance, with Rob ert Burson and Peg Quisenberry the contact points.
Miss Diane Stage, valedictorian of Nelsonville York High School's 1968 class and National Honor Society member, received the AAUW Edith A. Wray Scholarship a full tuition award announced by Ohio University. She carried a 3.6 OU freshman average and aims for a master's in speech pathology after graduation. She headed the Nelsonville Public Library reading program for two summers.
Richland Garden Club members met at Gerald Terrell home to receive yearbooks and the 1970 Home and Garden calendars. Mizicko won four state awards in this year's color slide contest and a flower arranging workshop is planned for Oct 21 at Mrs Wilhelm's home. Albany Grange elected officers including David Turrill master and Doris Mace treasurer. Alpha Gamma Delta Alumnae outlined pro tem officers Jane Paynter and Anne Smith with plans for sorority house news and a Oct 8 meeting at Janice Bixler's home.
