Mary Ellen Kelly, 36, of Marcus Iowa, who can move only her facial muscles and two fingers autographs her book But With the Dawn Rejoicing in Chicago. She hopes to tour veterans hospitals by ambulance to cheer lonely veterans using 5 percent of her muscles to fill her day with activity.

Huntington West Virginia. Forrest Burton Large a 35 year old mechanic from Proctorville Ohio died in hospital from injuries suffered in a Huntington garage on Sept 4 1958. He had filed a federal suit for 956000 against General Motors and his wife Helen alleging a faulty air suspension device collapsed while he worked under a GM car.
Western correspondents say Sam Teu village in northeastern Laos shows little damage after five days of combat. Government troops reportedly withdrew under attack on September 12 but re entered the village the next morning and stayed.

Lynn Kauffman 23, secretary to Prof Stanley Spector, was found battered in Boston harbor after the Utrecht sailed to New York. The ship left Commonwealth Pier at 6 15 p m, a conversation occurred at 6 55 p m through her cabin door. Mrs Spector spoke with her and the vessel carried 11 passengers plus crew and a pilot.
