The Connecticut state senate ratified the federal women suffrage amendment again on Tuesday amid questions about the legality of the prior ratification at a special session. The House also ratified suffrage by a 194 to 9 vote.
American express checks identified as those stolen from the State Bank at Plainfield Illinois on July 12 and from the Commercial Bank of Moline Illinois on August 13. About 800 dollars in checks were stolen. Archie Dennison was killed and Cowboy Hill badly wounded in the battle with police.
Hollywood California September 21 Governor James M Cox guided a movie ships on an artificial lake during his first film industry visit. About fifty film stars lined the rails as he steered the craft and a large American flag was raised while divers acted as living buoys.

Six Muskingum county women are serving as grand jurors for the September term of the court of common pleas in Zanesville. This marks the first time in Ohio history that women have been called to serve in this role following the adoption of the woman suffrage amendment to the U S Constitution.

Lillian Wheeland obtained a divorce from Harvey Wheeland who was found guilty of burglary and grand larceny in Columbus on September 25, 1918 and is serving the sentence at the Ohio state reformatory in Mansfield. Judge L. G. Worstell granted the decree and restored her maiden name Lillian Hooper. Attorney L. A. Koons represented her in the uncontested suit.
