Athens County man Jim Dailey dies at 81
James Dailey aged 81 of Athens died Sunday September 17 2017 at his home. Born September 22 1935 in Athens he worked at Miller's Poultry and was a 50 year member of Brick Masons Local 52. He served as superintendent of the Athens County Home for over 15 years and enjoyed hunting. Survived by wife Eula Hudwell Dailey four children twelve grandchildren and a sister he was predeceased by a son and a sister. Funeral services Thursday at 1 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home Athens with burial in Burson Cemetery Shade. Friends may call Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The First Annual Pawpaw Festival at Lake Snowden added a canoe and kayak slalom time trial to the lineup with buoys guiding a 90 degree course. Winners were Jonathan Wolfe and Holl Wolfe of Hurricane WV in a 1:55.38 canoe time and Ben King of Loudonville with 1:38 in a kayak.
