General Education Emphasized By Ohio University President
President John C. Baker urged 700 freshmen at Ohio University to pursue a broad general education over early specialization. He argued that an adaptable mindset and atmosphere, gained from liberal studies, will prove valuable in an uncertain future and benefit students nationwide and in Ohio. He praised the freshmen advisor system as the school’s most important program of the past decade as registration ends and classes begin tomorrow at 8 am.
