County to Gain Over Two Million for Highway Development

Athens County will receive 2 042 435 from a state bond issue for highway development after a restudy of population figures by the Athens Chamber of Commerce. The new allocation follows an increase in county population from 49 063 to 57 842, qualifying a larger share. The chamber also discussed a charter form of government, the Clear Creek Logan Reservoir as a national recreation area, and plans with the university regarding airport lands. A golden wedding anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Herman Warner was announced with an open house Sunday.
