Supreme Court blocks county charter from November ballot
The Ohio Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld Secretary of State Jon Husted's ruling that three county charter questions, including one in Athens County, will not appear on the November ballot. The court majority said Husted could deem the proposals invalid for not stating an alternative form of government, though justices did not fully agree with his reasoning. The charters would have banned injection wells for fracking waste and restricted using county water for drilling.
