In Portland Oregon a dog faced trial in municipal court when owner Fred Weidner accused of owning a vicious dog brought the pet to court. The judge tested the animal by placing a hand in its mouth and playfully wrestled with it, ruling the dog’s conduct as playful rather than vicious.
World light heavyweight champ John Henry Lewis meets Tiger Hairston of Huntington in a 10 round bout at Charleston West Virginia. Former heavyweight title holder Jack Dempsey will serve as referee for the card.
Tommy Loughran, 33, of Philadelphia, defeated Ray Impellitiere, 236 pounds, by a 10 round decision in a dull bout. The result marks his third win over the New Yorker.
