Fertilizer Should Be Used, Chambers Says
Logan farmers warned by Harold Chambers extension agent to apply 200 to 300 pounds of 2-14-4 fertilizer for wheat this fall. He cites last year’s nitrogen remaining and this year’s heavy rains leaching it, causing rank growth and warns the pattern may not repeat. He notes half the fertilizer cost may be charged to the wheat crop and that about half benefits the following clover.
