A Houston man named W. S. Hawes killed his own child and others when a bomb exploded as he walked toward a school. The incident, described in AP reports, depicts a parent activating a weapon targeting students.
Howard Hensley Van Mater 38 of West Columbia died after being struck by a Baltimore and Ohio freight train at 8 30 p m on a Mason track siding. The engineer saw him too late. his body was moved about 10 feet. The death was ruled a skull fracture. The incident remains under investigation with mentions of two other men with Van Mater earlier.
