McArthur to Gain Highway Post Office Service in Ohio
McArthur prepares for a new highway post office system linking Columbus with Gallipolis and Portsmouth in October. The move marks Ohio s first use of bus mail routes, boosting service for a town with a long postal history dating to 1828 and a succession of postmasters.

Plans include door bell campaigns, a Park Central Hotel headquarters, and upcoming appearances by Gov. Don Ebright and Sen. Robert Taft. Volunteers were named to attend the State Convention, and Judge Betz discussed poll books while reiterating party stakes in the November election.
