Indians extend AL record with 21st straight win at home
Cleveland and Mike Clevinger rode a late surge to beat Detroit 5 2 at Progressive Field as Jay Bruce hit a three run homer after an opening Tigers run. Jose Ramirez and Edwin Encarnacion contributed run producing hits while Cody Allen closed it for win number 21 in the streak tying MLB mark. The 30,000 plus crowd created a playoff like atmosphere as the Indians stretched their historic run. Jermer Candelario collected Detroit's first run off Clevinger but the Indians answered with timely hitting and stout defense including Urshela's clutch stop to preserve the lead.
