Nelsonville tomodernize electric service facilities
Nelsonville C and SOE announces permanent improvements starting this fall at the old Athena Brick Property on Factory Road to house all district service functions. A new pole yard carports fencing and road work are planned with a $100,000 structure slated for completion later. Additional upgrades along Canal Street Madison Grove College and near the new Tuberculosis Hospital cost about $15,000 to boost voltage and service to the hospital by early 1956. A street lighting modernization costing about $6,000 is planned in 1956 to finish the program in the city. The projects aim to fulfill the 1961 city council plans for Nelsonville.
