Meigs County lists its 26th polio case this year, totaling nine for the current season and 17 last year. The latest patient is 18 year old Carlos McKnight, diagnosed at Holzer Hospital Gallipolis and moved to Children’s Hospital Columbia. case described as non paralytic.

Cincinnati native Dr. Harry K. Eversall 60 former Marietta College president died Sunday night from a heart ailment. He served as minister at Walnut Hills Congregational Church before 1937 and was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Walnut Hills at his death.

The Gidden Tour rolls 335 antique cars down Euclid Avenue in Cleveland for the largest parade of its kind. Vehicles range from a 55 year old Autocar valued at 15000 to cars from 1920s era among 92 makes from 23 states and Canada, with two thirds built before 1915. The tour moves to Columbus tomorrow for a statewide parade honoring Ohio’s sesquicentennial.
New Jersey ex-con William Howell, 35, of Ridgefield, surrendered to police in New York after a manhunt that began August 28 for the Bronx murder of labor leader Thomas F. Lewis, 35. Authorities say Howell was the driver of a getaway car used by Edward Ryan, 45, who was killed by a pursuing officer.
