Athens City School Budget Tabled By Commission Action
Athens school board tabled the 1963 budget after the county budget commission rejected a city request for two tenths of a mill. The board approved two part time hires, accepted Principal Roger K Burke’s resignation, and deferred a church’s request to use Morrison Elementary. The rejection shifts funds to the city for debt retirement, costing the district an estimated $30,000.
