In Indianapolis leaders of American Protestant and Orthodox churches pledged to use large funds for black economic advancement while allowing black churchmen to decide usage. The National Council of Churches session criticized the plan’s lack of limits as white observers denounced it.
Ohio Highway Patrol Supt. Robert M. Chiaramonte says the patrol will not bluff when called to quell campus disorders and will pursue hard lines on arrests with charges not dropped. Pentagon sources say an inflation of financial irregularities in military service clubs widens with leads in Vietnam, West Germany, and the United States.
